Lotus Domino upgrade from 8.5.2 to 8.5.3, custom template change

Question

I have a custom template that is deployed on Domino servers and used by clients for mailboxes. The hierarchy is as follows:

StdRMail85 | Custom Template | User Mailfile 

This template worked from Lotus Notes / Domino 6.5 to 8.5.2, with some changes since updates were made for Lotus products. I upgraded my Domino server and Notes client to 8.5.3, and the hierarchy for the template was broken.

When loading the original form of the template from the calendar view and the subsequent one through the debugger in pre-8.5.3 uidoc.Document.ParentDatabase has the path to the file

 mail\mailfile.nsf. 

There is a wizard in this mail file that I created. My template inherits from StdRMail85. In 8.5.3, the path to the uidoc.Document.ParentDatabase file is

 C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\notesA3700A\~editclp.ncf 

I can add my template as a wizard to the mail file and update and / or replace the design in the workspace. An integration point is a button in a calendar view. When this button is selected, I load a saved form containing user configuration data. The UIDOC for this form is the one that has document.parentDatabase pointing to the editclp file, not the mail file in 8.5.3.

I also noticed that after updating the template, something seems to lock the template, because I cannot update it again or view its properties.

I applied the fix pack update, but it was useless. Nothing changed the code wisdom or configuration in the template from 8.5.2, so I got a little confused. Any ideas?

It seems that FixPack 1 for Notes 8.5.3 and FixPack 1 for Domino 8.5.3 fixed this problem for me. I am posting an answer here if anyone else encounters a problem.
