Running Coffeescript fragments directly in Aptana 3 Studio

I am playing with CoffeeScript now and I like to see that Aptana now supports it. But I can not "run" Script directly in Aptana to get print results on the built-in console.

When I Ctrl+R , as described in the CoffeeScript package, I only get git -help information printed on the console.

Example

script.coffee

 console.log "Hello Coffee"

When I run it through the terminal, typing

 $coffee script.coffee

I get the result printed perfectly. I can not find any documentation or tips to solve this problem. Did I miss something?

There is an open ticket here and a short discussion here .

If this is your problem (look at the console, if you got this 'line 3: pre: command not found' error ), then the workaround I found is to edit Aptana Rubles/coffeescript.ruble/commands/run.rb ( located in ~ / Documents in Linux installation) and delete '| pre 'from line 11.

After that, restart Aptana or reload the Coffeescript package from Bundles View (right-click on it โ†’ reload), select the text (it will work only with the selected text) and press Ctrl-R + 1 . You should now see a new html file with "Hello Coffee".

Hope this helps.
