Do I need to send iTunesArtwork 1024 * 1024 for my iOS app?

According to the new iOS HID, there is a requirement for the icon 1024 * 1024

https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/MobileHIG/IconsImages/IconsImages.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40006556-CH14-SW1

Do I need to enable it and what should I name the file?

Yes

It seems that they are applying it now. 512s are no longer approved.

The new text reads:

"The icon of the large application you downloaded is not valid. It must be a .jpeg, .jpg, .tif, .tiff or .png file with a size of 1024 x 1024 pixels, at least 72 DPI and in the RGB color space."

Yes, it is necessary. The document also states that this is for the App Store, so I think that it will be part of the process of sending applications to iTunes connect, and not to be part of your application package.

Do you have a developer account? You can enter iTunes connect, go to "Manage your applications" and look in the "Add a new application" section, which is displayed in the upper left corner.
