Can I create an HDF5 hyperlink?

Is it possible to create a link only for a dataset hyperword in HDF5?

For example, I have one dataset of size 1000 x 3 representing (a, b, c) as a function of time, let’s say so. And now I need a link that only points to the data "a" (1000 x 1). Is it possible?

[Widespread in googled, I learned a valuable lesson that a “link” is essentially useless in a google request. And I can't tell from the HDF5 documentation, so I'm sorry if this is stupid.]

Asked in (very useful) HDF5 support, I found that the answer was no. For anyone looking for this functionality: Redesign the code / data structure.

Unfortunately, for me the code is not mine, but the data structure is given by other, stubborn people.
