Testing iphone apps built on a remote Mac

I use the macincloud service to try / play / learn about creating apps for the iPhone. I have a dummy application and I want to test it on my real device.

I have a developer certificate, I installed profiles, but now I want to test my application on a real device. Since it is not possible to connect my iPhone to the macincloud server, and since I am on a Windows machine, how can I test my application on a real device (the one that has the UDID that was used to create the certificates and provisioning profiles).

Is there a file that xcode generates and can it be used to transfer on a real device from a Win7 machine?

You need to create an archive in Xcode, and then from the organizer click "Share" to create an IPA file. This file, together with the ad-hoc provisioning profile, can install the application on the prepared device via iTunes on a Mac or Windows computer.

Information on providing an ad-hoc deployment device can be found here: http://mobiforge.com/developing/story/deploying-iphone-apps-real-devices or Apple developer docs.

Good luck.

Correct answers have already been given. However, see http://testflightapp.com . This can come in handy when you go to more test devices, especially if you want to extend them to the beta community.

You want to create an ad-hoc. You will need to read Apple docs to find out what is related to them. You will then have an application file that you can install using any iTunes.
