What is the difference between CakePHP 2.x folders and plugins?

Question

From CakePHP 2.0 on, the folder structure is as follows:

- myapplicationname
--- attachment
---- Plugin
---- (other folders ...)
--- lib
--- plugins
--- suppliers

Is there a difference between the Plugin folder in the application folder or the plugins folder in the root folder of the application?

What is the recommended use of these folders? Or can you use them as you wish?

Sorry if this is a recurring question, but a quick search did not give me such questions ...

I do not think this is important. I think the main reason that there was a folder outside the application folder was that it could be divided into different sites (for example, kernel files).

So, use your own discretion.
