Here you can find the HbbTV specification: http://www.hbbtv.org/pages/about_hbbtv/specification.php

The BBC has released a framework that supports HbbTV and other SmartTV plugins: http://fmtvp.imtqy.com/tal/index.html

Opera provides a virtual machine with a TV emulator at http://dev.opera.com/tv , and there is a list of real HbbTV applications for applications at http://www.hbbig.com/

The best way to find out is that HbbTV considers existing applications and then searches for unknown results in the specifications. Also take a look at the HbbTV-Testsuite code as the free MIT-xperts HbbTV-Testsuite .

The best source of official search information is the official ETSI ETSI TS 102 809 specification, as well as Documents from the IPTV Open Forum.

As far as I know, there are currently no good resources. Over time, more resources appear. It’s best to probably look at the code for existing applications. There is a set of test applications,

And a useful plugin for firefox that provides some HbbTV APIs is here:

You can use this little emulator

https://addons.mozilla.org/es/firefox/addon/firehbbtv/

FireHbbTV integrates with Firefox to help you develop HbbTV (http://www.hbbtv.org/). Then you can take advantage of the powerful development tools associated with your favorite browser. The most commonly used HbbTV APIs are entered on the fly on a web page as soon as you activate the plugin support for this site. What's more, FireHbbTv provides you with useful tools such as resizing, switch aspect ratio, security marker and keyboard that simulates TV remote control capabilities.

More detailed list of functions:

Javascript HbbTV API injected on-the-fly Most HbbTV specific <object> support Support of HbbTV specific mime-types Minimal support of DVB uri Smart resize Aspect-Ratio switching Safe-area margin display TV image replacement Channel list DSM-CC Stream Event simulation Keyboard navigation simulating TV Remote control

In my opinion, you should go to Opera. Because it provides a fully functional HbbTV browser with an SDK for playback and an emulator for testing your application without using any other device.
