InstallShield has a wizard to help you configure Windows NT services. Here are some basic instructions to get you started.
- In the browse list under Organization, select Components.
- Right-click Components node and select Component Wizard. The component wizard opens.
- In the welcome panel of the wizard, select the second option that allows you to install and manage Windows NT services.
- The next panel has options such as Install NT Service and Control NT Service. Select the NT Management Service option to remove the service at run time. (Then, later, you can create a separate component by restarting the wizard and selecting the Install NT Service option, which allows you to update the service on the destination computer and indicate when it should be started.)
- Complete the wizard.
InstallShield creates a new component for the service that you install or control. To change any of the service settings, expand Advanced node settings for this component, and then click NT node management services or NT node installation services. Change all the options that appear on the right.
Note. These instructions apply to Premier and Professional releases for InstallShield, but not to the Express version.
