Xdebug vs xhprof

I used xdebug to profile the use of multi curl in my php code, and the numbers did not add up with the sum, so instead I used xhprof, which seemed to provide better data. Why does xdebug provide seemingly bad profiling information, and is there any way around this? I would prefer to use the xdebug profiler, as there are more tools for it.

The Xdebug profiler works slightly differently and produces different results. (I also know that there is a small error in data aggregation). I always suggest using Xdebug and XHprof.
