IOS: How can I launch an iMessage application for my application?

Question

I want to run the iMessage application (built into a new feature for iOS 5) from my own application. Can someone help me?

I know that applications can be opened from an application using openURL :, but what is the URL scheme for iMessage?

From the IPhone URL Schema :

NSString *stringURL = @"sms:"; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:stringURL]; [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:url]; 

You cannot target iMessage precisely because it is transparent in the system. Therefore, you should work with SMS instead, and iMessage will be used if available.
