Good pedagogical resources on suffix arrays

I just can't find a good pedagogical resource explaining the suffix arrays. Even "bible" does not apply to him.

Where can I find a clear and complete explanation of suffix arrays and their use? (A video course would be ideal because I'm lazy.)

Prof. Dan Husfield gave a lecture on this topic: http://www.cs.ucdavis.edu/~gusfield/cs222f07/lineartimesuffixarray.wmv . You may find this useful.

Many of the things you can do with the suffix array have been described in the past based on the suffix tree. An excellent text edition, which is Dan Husfield's Book of Algorithms .

An excellent resource when it comes to searching for suffixes, representations, and compression is the review work by Navarro and Mackinen DOI 10.1145 / 1216370.1216372 .
