Sphinx on a server with cpanel?

You had a quick question about installing Sphinx Search. Do I need to install it differently for a server with cpanel? Or are normal Linux installation instructions for Sphinx working fine? I ask because I do not have a test server with cpanel, so it will be installed directly on the real server.

Pretty sure there are no special considerations. cpanal will not be used to control sphinxes, but it will work fine. You will probably need to check the firewall so that applications can communicate with the sphinx port.

(I didn’t need to install sphinx on the cpanel server, but I used cpanel a bit. We used sphinx with plesk - and there was nothing special there)
