Android TTS Engine Extension

Adding a new language to an existing TTS engine in android, can I change an existing engine without starting from scratch? since the structure of speech synthesis is somewhat complete, perhaps I can implement TTS for my language in accordance with this, instead using a different approach.

Need suggestions.

thanks

I think you guys were wrong. I wanted to create a TTS for a language where TTS does not exist using the default TTS mechanism for android.

It doesn't seem so easy. At the time I asked this question, I did not have a clear idea of speech synthesis. This requires a lot of work and research. The easiest way to create a TTS for a new language is to use the eSpeak speech synthesizer. The implementation is very simple and ported to an android project without eyes .

The Android TTS engine is by default based on the Pico TTS. Pico TTS is open source in external / svox in the Android tree.

Please note that you can use other speech mechanisms, such as Ivona, go to settings β†’ voice and input β†’ tts settings β†’ engines.
