Windows does not recognize Galaxy S2 at all

I have a problem with my Galaxy S2. I usually leave it in debug mode, until a few days ago it did a great job. I successfully downloaded the APK for testing through eclipse previously.

I tried to download the prototype of the new im application that I was working on, and when I connected to S2, nothing happened, Windows did not make any sounds, as usual, and when I tried to view the running devices, it did not appear.

When I look at the device manager in universal serial bus controllers, it does not show any "unknown devices"

I tried reinstalling the drivers through kies and third-party sources (as well as uninstalling all the drivers and let Windows install them again for me.

I tried connecting as a Mass Storage Device with debug mode on and off.

I repeatedly restarted both my computer and the phone.

When my phone is turned off and connected to Windows, a signal will sound and say that the device is connected but not recognized (which is more than what I get when the phone is turned on)

And sometimes, when I "fix connection problems" in Kies, it reinstalls the drivers, and after the process is complete, the windows say "The drivers were not installed successfully"

I tried to connect it to a laptop running Windows XP, and it will appear as an “Unrecognized device” even after installing Kies on the laptop, and tried to install the driver with the same results.

Posting here is my last resort since I spent about 5 hours to fix this problem and find the answers. My biggest concern is that when I connect my phone, it will beep to say that it is charging, but Windows 7 does not even see it!

I appreciate all the suggestions and help!

EDIT: I also installed the Samsung Android USB Driver for Windows , and it says in Windows that the drivers were not installed successfully

Thanks, John

Try entering the number:

*#7284#

It has 4 options:

UAPP

  • MODEM
  • PDA

USB

  • MODEM
  • PDA

In the USB section, select the PDA. If it is already selected on the PDA, then re-select it by selecting MODEM again and then PDA.

Change the USB setting, then press and reconnect to kies again.

Hope this helps.

I had the same problem, and I was just as close to giving up, I realized that I had replaced the usb cord with a general store. I still have the old one, and that turned out to be my problem. Hope this helps someone else!

It really sucks, I know this has happened several times, and it is really annoying to deal with. I got lucky with this post where they suggest:

... they offered to remove the battery from the hero with usb connected and then returned the battery again, so I thought that this would not work and, possibly, an installation option was available. Then I was able to follow my first set of instructions for installing drivers through devices and synchronization now works!

If this does not work, there are some tips and useful driver websites for you: -D

I know that:

  • Uninstall any drivers associated with your device.

  • Restart your computer without connecting

  • Pull the battery onto the device, insert it, and after it detects, turn on the battery again.

  • If the driver is not installed correctly or an “unknown device”, go to the site on this forum to get the CORRECT driver for your device and Windows OS

  • Go to Control Panel-> Device Manager → (unknown device) → Update Driver

  • Find the downloaded driver, install

  • Make sure the device says “USB Connected” in the notification area when connected

  • Click "Turn on USB storage" or "USB debugging → USB debugging"

.. this will at least show you that you have the correct drivers.

IF you have done all this and you still cannot get it debugged through eclipse, you either have conflicting drivers or your eclipse development environment is configured correctly. Perhaps upgrade the Eclipse and Android SDK and try again?

Sorry, I can’t give you the exact data, but this problem could be ANYTHING lol

I had the same problem when using a common cord. Do not use usb to transfer I think that they are made only for charging.

Decide using a spare cord, not common.

Well, that’s why after talking with Samsung they informed me that there is a slight defect with the female USB connection and that it can sometimes be free.

Only solution, send it by mail ...

This fix works on all my computers that do not "recognize" my embedded Samsung Android. Connect the phone to the computer and restart the phone. When it appears again, the computer recognizes it.

My method is KIES AIR.

Open Kies Air

Go to settings > Bluetooth off . More settings > Tethering and portable hot spot > Bluetooth tethering check true and portable Wi-Fi hotspot true.

Now the air KIES will open on your device and click the "Start" button. copy IP address to browser

Your s2 is connected to the computer.

Open a browser and copy ip, then click "Paste."

I have two Win XP SP3 workstations that will not connect to my Galaxy. Finally, fixed this by installing this Intel driver and installing Windows Media Player 11.

If you use a custom kernel on your phone, you can also check if you have a forced charge or not. I thought that my phone and computer would never talk to each other again, but it turned out that I quickly turned on the charge. By turning this around, I solved the problem.

This may be a problem with the USB 3.0 ports. I was also tormented by this problem, and I was at a point where I was so ready to burn this device in order to come to the kingdom. Before I did this, I decided to use my unused port 2.0 and guess that, IT WORKS! If your computer does not have 2.0, good luck with that.
