Import rules.csv file into sonar

I have a rules.csv file in ms-excel format. Rules.csv is loaded from the quality profiles of another sonar server. Now I want to implement my sonar with the same quality characteristics. Now my questions

  • how to import csv file into sonar file
  • rules.csv is enough to create the same quality profiles of others

Steps to Back Up / reimport

  • Go to Configuration → Quality Profiles
  • Click the Backup button - the desired profile and save the file
  • Go to target sonar instance
  • Go to Configuration → Quality Profiles
  • Click Restore profile (it is located in the upper right corner and is a little difficult to miss).
  • Select a previously saved file.
  • Done

If you are not an administrator on the source sonar and want to get a profile, there will be no backup button. Try to find out the internal profile identifier (see the link URL in Quality Profiles ), and then download it as follows:

curl http://target-sonar-instance/profiles/backup/15 -XPOST > ~/Downloads/profile.xml

(where 15 is the identifier you found)
