Link to the application from xcode

The "Need" button for communication with another application in the application store. I use this ...

[[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.google.com"]];

It works great on safari. From what I read, if you want to connect directly to the itunes repository, you use: itms-apps://ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewContentsUserReviews?type=Purple+Software&id=409954448

Whenever I do this, it says an invalid url. Maybe because the app store is not available in the simulator? and it will only work on the device? Is there any way to check these links in the simulator?

Im using http://itunes.apple.com/linkmaker/ to get a link to the app. Thanks for your input.

You answered your question:

iOS Simulator does not have AppStore / iTunes and therefore cannot open AppStore / iTunes links. But the way you do this is correct and should work without problems.
