Email Template Editor similar to Campaign Editor

Question

I need to make a similar email template editor like Campaign Monitor (http://www.campaignmonitor.com/templates/). I tried many wysiwyg editors, but it does not work as I want.

Do you know what technologies are used? I do not know how to make a panel that will edit the content on the right side.

If you have tips, good resources, articles, I will be very happy!

I studied this myself, as our CMS is being rebuilt and needs improved WYSIWYG editors. They use a highly modified version of CKEditor http://www.ckeditor.com

CKEditor has version 4 in beta, which will support online editing (something we need), so I will closely monitor this. Demo at http://nightly-v4.ckeditor.com/3466/samples/

Their technology is property. In the past few years, each ESP has created its own editor of its kind.

Mosaic Editor is the first open email template designer in this class.

You can find a free deployment (working just like a live demo) at http://mosaico.io , and you can get sources at https://github.com/voidlabs/mosaico

You can select blocks from the set defined by the template. >, then you fill in the content and change its styles in the style of WYSIWYG . If you are in a large window, you can also preview the preview for the mobile version.

The master template determines what the blocks are, what you can edit and what you can style, and contains any html trick to make it compatible with most clients: this means that you can greatly change the editor’s behavior by simply writing a new master template.

This is 99% javascript (IE10 + and any other modern browser) and depends on server functions only for "final insertion" and "upload / change image"
