Can you run the soap through HTTPS?

Is it possible to run SOAP through https? I got the impression that SOAP has its own security model, which allows you to use encryption regardless of the transport mechanism. This suggests that we want everything to be simple and interesting, whether we can simply use the existing HTTPS configuration in Jetty to provide SOAP conversion via http.
