Amazon Kindle Fire and .apk file

I am currently trying to install an .apk file on an Amazon Kindle Fire android .. I tried a regular method that downloads an .apk file from email directly from it, but it cannot work.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

What you are trying to do is called sideload ing. Before doing this, you will need to go to Fire's:

 "Settings" => "+ More" => "Device"

and turn on

 "Allow Installation of Applications"

enter image description here

Then you can simply open the APK from the email client and install it in almost any file manager.

ES File Manager is commonly used to download applications to Fire.

Here you can find out more about using Dropbox to press the APK on your Kindle, and which browser to use instead of the built-in silky gizmo.

I found a job using some of the above things above. I was getting the same error for every apk I sent to my Fire via email. Here is my way:

  • Go to "Settings"> "Advanced"> "Device"
  • Make sure you select ALLOW. Install applications on.
  • Go to the Amazon app store and download a file manager application such as ES File Manager . This program is free through the Amazon App Store. Do not email to your device. Install it in the menu "apps"> "store" on your Fire.
  • Submit your APK files yourself.
  • Click "save" on your attachments
  • Open the file manager (ES File Manager) and open the download folder.
  • Click on the application file to install (and it works).

It sounds too simple, but when I tried to install, when I opened the email attachment, I got the same error. It worked for me.

I just got my own Kindle Fire now, and I had to find a solution myself (my problem is that I can’t download anything from the Amazon Store at all, because I don’t have a US account or a US billing address). If I use my own Kindle Fire mail application and try to open the attachment, I get the error message "There is a problem parsing the package."

However, if I access Gmail through a browser and download the application, it opens and installs just fine.

Hope that helps
