Hypervisor literature

I was looking for literature that described the mechanics of a hypervisor / microkernel that explains how it works, design behind, etc., but can't find anything except cs and wikipedia articles published.

I am very interested in this area and would like to know more, so I wonder if anyone can recommend any literature in this area? The closest I can imagine is books covering operating systems.

I am mainly interested in the additional security benefits that the hypervisor can provide for the OS instead of running multiple OSs on top of the hypervisor.

Thanks!

The theme of the hypervisor is closely related to the hardware used with it. Thus, it is difficult to recognize the hypervisor without knowing the details of the equipment.

So, if the hypervisor is implemented on ARMv7, you need to look at the implementation of the hypervisor along with hardware support, for example. a virtualization extension or a security extension provided by hardware.

A good entry is available on the genodra web page. You will also find an article on extending security.

This documentation is for ARMv7 hardware.

ARMv7 Cortex A: Architecture Reference Guide provides more detailed information on the hardware support needed for the hypervisor.
