Notepad ++: regex search n times

notepad ++ answer (v5.9.6.2 (UNICODE)): Cannot find the text "a {2}"

How can I implement this expression (search n times) in notepad ++?

UPDATE: like Notepad ++ 6.x, which now uses PCRE as its regular expression engine, your expression should now work as it is.

Notepad ++ older than 6.0 does not support numeric quantifiers in its regex engine. You will need to do with aa (repeating input n times).
