First steps with maven for my spring mvc application

Currently running:

So this is spring MVC application. I need goals for compilation, construction and packaging (exploded war for production).

Where to begin?

I want to be able to do all this through the command line, so it can be independent of the IDE.

Update So the working mvn clean install worked!

Why are my classes duplicated?

 1) in the /classes folder 2) /myapp-1.0/web-inf/classes folder.

 mvn clean install

Just starting mvn will not help. You need to run mvn clean install or mvn clean test .

Perhaps you could do with the mvn package

I will give you some more guidance on the same

  • Maven uses a local repository where your banks are loaded and stored - usually in the folder "C: \ Docs n Settings \ user.m2"

  • mvn install will pack your war and install it in your .m2 folder in the package structure indicated by the project group identifier, artifact identifier and version.

  • The mvn package will pack your project into the war and place it in your target folder along with the exploded war. You coldly specify the output directory using the maven-war plugin.

  • maven clean will clean your target folder (delete it). This way you can use a clean maven package to clear the target and recreate it.

  • Offline mode will help speed up your work if your banks are already loaded. You can use -o for this.

  • Your compilation classes go under the folder indicated by the assembly tag in your folder.

So use mvn -o pure package / mvn pure package or mvn package according to your needs. If you need war in local repo, use mvn install

right click on the maven project 1. Run As-> Maven Clean 2. Run the program As-> Maven Install

In my case there were no class files. They will be generated during the installation phase of Maven.
