Want to show Update Progress at the top of ModalPopExtender

I have a content page with an update panel and update controls. The Update Progress slider is displayed correctly when the page returns. Now I have added Modal Popup Extender to the page. When a message is triggered after exiting Modal Popup Extender mode, the Update Progress indicator appears, but under Modal Popup Extender.

How to make the Update Update control appear on top?

Increase z-index UpdateProgress with CSS.

 .progress { z-index: 100002 !important; } 

Edit: added rule ! important to be safe.
