Sharing files between applications in iCloud

I have an “easy” / “free” application and a full version of this application.
I want to make sure that if the user has a free version and buys the full version,
they will receive a message indicating whether they want to combine the state of the free application into the full one.

Can this be done using iCloud?

This requires that both applications use the same team identifier. As long as they are installed with the same team identifier in rights, they can exchange content.
