Apple Bonjour SDK for Windows

I plan to use the Apple Bonjour SDK for Windows in a small .NET application using C #. This small application will use Bonjour for network discovery. I am currently testing a sample Simple Chat Bonjour application that comes with the Apple SDK. After I published this sample, I tried to run the setup on another machine, and he said that Bonjour service is not available. I checked my original development machine, the Boujour service was installed and started on it. And if I stop the service, the sample application will not work.

Question: Does this mean that any workstation / client machine that will use any application using Apple Bonjour to install the Apple Bonjour SDK? If so, is there another? (without the need to install the Bonjour SDK or service on the client machine)

You can get Bonjour for windows as a standalone installer that can be associated with your application. See this page for a license agreement and download Bonjour for windows here .

I recently worked on another project that I decided to continue and use Bonjour. To complete the solution:

  • Each Windows machine must have Apple Bonjour Printing for Windows installed. The link is from CV .

  • There is an Apple Bonjour for the Windows SDK. But I found that this third-party wrapper is better if you are already familiar with using Bonjour under iOS or OSX.
