Does more R packages fix performance issues?

If you install more packages in R, can this lead to possible performance problems in R? For example, if I had 1000 packages installed instead of 10, I could download the package:

library('package name')

Take more time?

Or even other functions from R take longer?

No, this should not change.

The number of installed packages should not affect the speed of the functions or the download of the package. Installing a package does not put them in RAM or anything else, it just installs files on your hard drive. Therefore, the worst thing that can happen is that you have run out of physical space.

Now, if you have downloaded all 1000 packages, you can see a performance hit, as it will take up RAM.
