Creating wxWidgets on Windows with MinGW

Building wxWidgets seems impossible. I followed all the steps from the documentation page http://wiki.codeblocks.org/index.php?title=WxWindowsQuickRef , but when I try to compile, the entire command line window is filled with errors and warnings, then it stops, with the last line mingw32-make.exe: *** [gcc_mswudll\wxregex_regcomp.o] Error 1 I suspect this is due to MinGW, but I do not know.

You can try this guide, a more formal one.

An alternative is to use precompiled libraries. See wxPack .

you can get pre-compiled wxWidgets libs and tutorials (creating wxWidgets with MinGW) at http://www.philasmicos.de/content/238-wxwidgets_unter_windows_kompilieren . All tutorials are German, but with google translation, this should not be a problem.
