Phonegap Bonjour / Zeroconf or Websocket IP Address Discovery from HTML5

I am trying to implement a Phonegap application (HTML5) that connects to a Websocket server (works in an embedded device, also has a Bonjour service) for exchanging data on a home network.

I would like to know the best way to discover the server IP address using Phonegap. I studied and found that Titanium and Quickconnect support Bonjour. But I would like to stick with Phonegap for other reasons.

Any alternative way to discover the server IP address on the LAN is also fine.

Github has two versions of the iOS Bonjour plugin for Phonegap (Cordova):

Unfortunately, I did not find a cross-platform implementation.
