In Firemonkey, I found that the Livebindings engine is very slow when it binds lattices to databases. It takes more than 30 seconds to fill the grid of 5,000 records and 10 columns.
I tried both TBindDBGridLink and TBindGridLink, and the results are the same. It seems that all the data that fills the grid is loaded into memory, even if the grid does not show them.
Any advice for better performance?
In VCL, database support components can receive data almost instantly. Do you think VCL is still the best option for new business application projects that will focus on Windows in the beginning?
