Virtual network interface for windows

I am developing a type of VPN application and need a virtual network interface (aka TUN / TAP). Is there such a driver for windows?

The only thing I know about OpenVPN, but it's GPLed, and therefore AFAIK cannot be used in a closed source application.

If there is no ready-made solution, I would appreciate some assessment of how difficult it is to compose such a beast (and, possibly, some direction where to start).

I found this similar question , but it is dated 2008.

Found this: wodVPN - claims to ship with a virtual network adapter.

Try AnyTun. http://www.anytun.org/

It looks like a reliable tunnel driver, available on both Linux and Windows, and claims to be freeware.

If you do not find it to work or something like that, I would agree with your first commentator - to quickly conduct a session with a lawyer to view the legal contract for the one you found ... or even better, just call the sales department - they can say yes without legal worries.

Building a beast, as you say, is likely to be a pain. I did not do this, so I can’t give a solid assessment, but it seems reasonable to avoid it.
