File transferred via SFTP

Question

I have Linux (openSUSE 10.X) and have an SFTP service.

When someone puts a file, I have to write a script to move the files to another directory. I do not want to write a cron job. Is there an event or something that I can check to see if they sent the file?

You can write c application and connect to inotify events.

Also check out Net :: SFTP :: Server , an SFTP server written in Perl that can be expanded to do what you need.

Save the script somewhere on your server, chmod 755 $it and configure OpenSSH to use it as an SFTP server instead of the standard one.
