Convenient clock with PHP

I'm currently trying to find the best way to let the user select the time zone. I love how Google does this when you sign up for Google Analytics.

Google

1) Choose a country from the drop-down menu (it's easy, people are used to finding their country in the default list of countries)

2) Show the second shot with all time zones available in the selected country. This allows you to quickly and easily select your time zone. Moreover, the user does not even need to worry about whether the country has only one time zone.

Php path

Each recommendation (after searching in a stack overflow) uses the DateTimeZone library. This output is not user friendly, as it is difficult to find your time zone. You can’t even use your keyboard, as each time zone has a prefix of Europe / Africa, etc.

Back to my question. Is there a flyer listing all countries mapped to their time zones? If not, is there an easier way to let the user select a time zone?

There http://php.net/manual/en/datetimezone.listidentifiers.php ; and from each element of the list it’s easy to cut “continent /”. One example on the page even has this in code.

I found a Unicode document that combines time zones for countries where daylight saving time works the same. This list reduces the number of options to 100. I used this list to create a MySQL table containing all of these records.

Then you can easily create a drop-down list. Using the PHP function date_default_timezone_set() with php_code , you set the timezone correctly.
