AvalonEdit for IronPython scripts?

Question

Is it possible to use the AvalonEdit control in a WPF application as an ironPython script editor? The requirement is to have syntax highlighting and built-in script validation. If possible, intellisense will be even better. If you are not AvalonEdit, suggest any other such controls (even if available) that might be useful for this purpose.
