How to get a trace file to access the hard drive?

I implemented a simulation that takes a trace file as an input file, which basically tracks every request for reading, writing to the hard drive, and processing it.

Can someone tell me how / where can I get this trace file (track), or if there is any option in the windows to enable? If so, where should I look for this file on my hard drive?
