Why is the iOS app not working on my iPod touch?

I wrote a universal iOS application that works fine on my iPhone and iPad, but not on my old iPod touch. X-code does not even transfer a binary file. He just says

completed running program name in devicename

The deployment objective is 4.2. (IPod touch runs 4.2.1 and has 2.1 GB free space).

How to fix this problem?

I don’t know your specific iPod model, but I had this problem and it sounds like an armv6 / armv7 problem that recently started appearing with the latest Xcode update. I pulled my hair for ages on this.

Make sure your build is armv6 β€” you may need to physically enter β€œarmv6” as supported at the top of your build settings, otherwise it will only compile for armv7 devices.
