Haskell Remote Ascent

I am trying to find the best way to start a process remotely in Haskell. I really only found one author who describes that they serialize the closure and submit it. Are there other ways (conceivable)? For instance. The cost of serializing and sending a close is certainly high, could there have been any attempts to pre-distribute functions to remote nodes before launch? Any other comments / ideas?
