VSP1342 - Another instance of the Logger Engine is currently launching an error when starting the profiler in VS2008

Question

This happens after I once launched the profiler. the profiler configuration is a lookup of the DLL executed by a separate executable file.

Profiling works for the first time, but then I need to restart my computer to start another profiling session.

What do I need to do to close VS Logger Engine? What is a VSG Logger Engine?

Sounds like you need a shutdown logger. Open the Visual Studio (2008) command prompt from the Start menu, and then try:

vsperfcmd /shutdown vsperfcmd /off
