What is the difference between `BeginSubscribeToStreamingNotifications` and` SubscribeToStreamingNotifications`

I see there a new version of the EWS managed API v1.2, which is intended for Exchange 2010 SP2.

What is the difference between subscription calls to 2 streaming notifications? I do not have VS at my disposal, so I can not find out myself. This question works pretty much for all subscription mechanisms (push, pull, streaming), as well as for synchronizing folder items, since EWS 1.2 seems to introduce many new Begin and End features.

Typically, methods starting with BeginXXX mark the beginning of an asynchronous method call, which EndXXX should be EndXXX at some point.
