UIImagePickerController Image Quality

I have a problem when I photograph programmatically using the UIImagePickerController (camera). When I touch the "Capture" button, it freezes for half a second (measures it), then it continues. I think this is because the picture should be complete, but I'm not sure. I also feel that the camera is autofocusing.

Question: Is there a way to change the camera resolution programmatically? Or is there a way to skip autofocus?

thanks

Update . Does anyone know how I can register classes to receive notifications when I click the "Switch Camera" or "Take Picture" button?

Thanks again

You can set the quality for video only. not for normal image capture. And also you cannot turn on autofocus. This is just a normal processing delay that you will have to deal with.
