Xcode Documentation Search Forever

When I enter something into the search box in the DOC Xcode browser, the first couple of characters appear, and then the spinning beach ball appears for a few seconds before something happens. Obviously, this is very annoying.

Is there some kind of cache that I could clear or other settings that could help?

I am running Xcode 4.2 on OSX 10.7 (Lion).

on the right, this is REALLY_ANNOYING , a workaround: limit the search by clicking on the magnifying glass in the search field, select the docking stations you are interested in, if you can limit the search to two documents, the time will be reasonable.
