Is the installation order of .pkg in .mpkg deterministic?

I created the .mpkg package package for Mac OS X from several .pkg packages. In the post-flight script of one of the .pkg packages .pkg I want to perform an action that depends on another .pkg package already installed. Can I guarantee that .pkg packages will be installed in the same order that I ordered from PackageMaker?

Based on my own further research, it would seem that:

  • all preliminary scripts are run, then all packages are retrieved, then all post-field scripts are run; and
  • the order in which individual scripts are executed is not deterministic.
