Symbolic Math Library in C / C ++ / Obj-C

I am trying to implement a graphing calculator on an iPhone. I am looking for a library that can take strings of expressions or functions and allow me to manipulate them (find derivatives, hooks, zeros, etc.). Is there anything similar?

There GiNaC for C ++. GPL-licensed and actively supported, the last update only a month ago. I found old links to many others that seem to no longer exist; perhaps it was easier for people to use GiNaC?
