NSApplication vs UIApplication

What is the difference between UIApplication and NSApplication ? (Since I do not get this from their documentation ...)
Can someone give me some useful links for a detailed explanation of their differences?
Also: What is the key role of AppNameAppDelegate.m (and .h) in an iOS app?
Thanks.

UIApplication is the base class of the iOS singleton application. NSApplication is the base class of the MacOS application.

See this for a more detailed look at the delegation and implementation of UIApplication and NSApplication.
