I am creating a Windows installer (.MSI package) for my project using visual studio 2010. I want to remove the launch condition for the .net framework, as I manually perform the same check in my custom action events. For my project, the "Delete" option is disabled for the ".net framework" launch condition. Therefore, I cannot delete it.
I tried the following solutions:
1) I installed orca3.1. I opened my .msi in ORCA and searched for the word VSDCA_VsdLaunchConditions. I deleted all the links for them and saved the .msi file for the project. When I try to install the same on the client machine, the following error appears during installation:
Error 1001. Error 1001. InstallUtilLib.dll: Unknown error. description for event ID 11001 from source MsiInstaller not found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is damaged. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event occurred on another computer, the displayed information should have been saved with the event. The following information was included in the event:
Product: SoundBite - Error 1001. Error 1001. InstallUtilLib.dll: Unknown error. (NULL) (NULL) (NULL) (NULL)
2) I open the ".vdproj" file and try to remove links for the launch conditions and boot conditions for the .net framework. When I tried to create an installation, it is automatically added. Can someone help me solve this problem?
