Safari on iPad and Windows

Just wondering if the iPad version and the Windows Safari version behave the same? If a website is being tested in Safari on Windows, does it need to be tested on an iPad? Never used an iPad before. Please advise. Thanks

You definitely should, there are some bulky problems that you may have to solve. Example: a scrollable DIV (very common, currently) or an old IFRAME (now quite rare) won't scroll, or better, you need to scroll using two fingers instead of one, and not a single iPad user knows about it. Sensitive web designers avoid scrollable sub-elements when serving the page for iPad / iPhone users.

Moreover, even the latest iPad equipment is slow and sluggish compared to your computer, so you better see how your site loads, and not just how it looks.

Hope this helps.

They basically work the same way, but iDevices uses the lighter mobile version of javascript. However, the layout should be the same. However, testing is always a good idea.
