System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x88980406)

We have a WPF application that is connected to a microscope. There is a scenario in which in the application we can switch the lens of the microscope lens, and when we do this, there is a hardware call that tells the microscope about the change in the lens, and then the user interface is updated.

As Berndot suggested, at least for me, this has something to do with resizing the HwndTarget.

I commented on these two lines of code, and now this problem is solved for me:

 HwndTarget hwndTarget = source.CompositionTarget; hwndTarget.RenderMode = RenderMode.SoftwareOnly;

Put it in the onLoaded method as shown here .
