I had this problem after I rebuilt the main file structure of my project. Xcode4 has moved everything around, and most online help for this problem is related to Xcode 3, so this is how you solve it in Xcode 4:

  • Click the project icon in the Project Navigator (blue root icon)
  • In the main menu of the panel, you can choose between your project or goals, choose a goal
  • Select "Phase Assembly" in the top menu
  • Open the Copy Package Resources item
  • Remove the plist file from it (your plist file should not be copied as part of the package)

In xcode, right-click the UserDefinedLocalization-Info.plist , select Get Info . Go to the Targets tab and uncheck the box next to your target.

Info.plist is a special file and must be handled in a special way. This is not allowed to be added to the application in the usual way.
