How can I find out where users come from if they come from another site of mine?

I have two websites, website A and website B, website A is the hotsite associated with website B where the sales take place.

We need to know how the user got website A and turned into a customer on website B (which means that he bought something), so we can lay down good sources for investment.

as a developer, I have access to these source codes of two sites and you can implement any google analytic tag on them.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Web browsers typically send a referrer header that contains the URL of the page that is linked to the current page.

You can access this in HTTP requests made to site B and track sessions in different ways when the first page load links to site A. You can also access the document.referrer property in JavaScript and use it to control your analytics.

The right way to implement this in Google Analytics is to set up trackers to work cross-domain.

This will allow you to see all the information about where the conversion visits originally came from and their path to purchase.

If you do not use cross-domain tracking or you have it configured incorrectly, you will receive meaningless data that shows self-resources in visit reports and the lack of proper attribution at your conversion points. When a visitor moves from your primary domain to another, they will begin a new session in Google Analytics.

...

If a visitor clicks on an ad or performs and searches in the normal mode and finishes browsing the page at www.3rdpartycheckout.com after viewing the pages on www.primarydomain.com, you lose ALL data on how this user came and the full image from that , what did they do. If they end up being converted, you will only know that they came from www.primarydomain.com (which is not at all useful).

Ask the landing page on website B to see the referrer tag and, if its website A, use a separate copy of Google Analytics on website B for all sessions that were received from website A.
