USB debugging setup saves uncheck

I am developing Android with Eclipse 3.6.2, OS X 10.6.7 and Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Everything works fine except every 15 or 20 minutes, Settings | Applications | Development | The USB debugging checkbox "cancels" itself. This means that I need to disconnect the USB cable and return to the setting, check the box again, plug the cable back in, and I am good to go.

What I would like to know is if there is some way to make this checkbox “sticky” (I suppose it should probably be), but I could not figure out under what circumstances cause the “unmarking” to occur ) I tried several USB / sdcard / Development settings and have not yet found the “sticky bit”.

I am new to Android, so I hope there is "you forgot to make X too" ...

EDIT:

Perhaps this is due to a USB Mass Storage message that appears after 10 minutes or so? I just noticed the message "USB Connected: you connected your phone to the computer via USB. Select" Mount "if you want to copy files between your computer and your phones SD card."

I have a Galaxy Tab and have not experienced this behavior. I also have not seen this on any other Android device, and I used a lot for development.

From what I can say, this state cannot be switched through SDK applications, but only through firmware. I assume that there is something unstable in your setup that runs something in the Tab firmware for this.

Sorry I don't have a silver bullet for you.

UPDATE

This suggests that there is something strange between your development machine and Tab. This should appear when you first connect the cable, then stay there until you disconnect the cable. I would not expect it to toggle the USB debugging flag, but I'm really starting to think that you have one screwed on tab.

Verizon has something running in the background that makes this a case, and with the same problem on my Samsung is mesmerizing after upgrading to a year. I think they are trying to block usb binding

My Galaxy Tab 7 "does it all the time." I would be in the middle of something, and he would just fall. Again and again.

The solution I found that works fine for me is to simply use adbWireless. This allows you to run ADB via Wi-Fi instead of USB. adbWireless can be found on the Android Market. This requires you to ROOT your phone, but since you are developing for it, you will still want to do this.

It seems to have gone away in 2.3 for DroidX. But it was rather unpleasant when I used DroidX w / 2.2 for OS X for debugging.
