How does recording in Youtube webcams work? Other webcam recording solutions?

Which flash server does youtube use for http://www.youtube.com/my_webcam ? Is it just FMS? I ask because I need to implement a webcam recording application, and youtube is the best I've seen so far. Great video quality and great sound sync.

I currently use rtmplite as a flash server http://code.google.com/p/rtmplite/ , but the results are not satisfactory, often happen due to audio synchronization and poor video quality.

So, I'm going to give Wowza a shot: has anyone tried this with good webcam recording quality and quasi-perfect audio sync?

In addition, if you have other suggestions for creating a reliable webcam recording application / server, I will be glad to hear them.

I tried Wowza to send live signals to another server and loved it. Its pretty easy to implement and fast. You can set the bitrate for a file that you save yourself, so the quality is up to you.

We tried using HDFVR with a Wowza media server. The results are great! Video + Audio Sync.
